About Us

Welcome to ISEB Sunday School

The ISEB Sunday School was established in January of 1998 as a year-round school to fulfill the needs of the community seeking Islamic education for their children. We started with 17 students and 3 teaching staff members who worked hard in the establishment.

Alhamdulillah, we are now in our 23rd year and 300+ students benefit from Islamic education and Quran with Tajweed. We offer classes from PreK to Level-8 and have a set curriculum taught by professional teachers, who also teach at various well- known institutions in the Bay Area. Our staff has expanded to 48 members who work diligently.
In addition, our school is the only weekend school in the Bay Area that has developed this program to train our newly graduates to become TA’s. Our graduates look forward to being part of our Sunday school staff and contribute their help to their younger friends. In their second year of service, they become part of our payroll and learn the responsibility of managing finances.

We have a school committee of five members who overlooks the operation and needs of the school.

Alongside studies, we offer a family picnic once a year to build bonds between parents and community members and Alhamdulillah we get a gathering of 800+ people for this event. We are successful in achieving our goal.

A Quiz Competition is another challenge for all the young people of the Bay Area. They work hard for this challenge and go home happily with awards, prizes, and trophies.

Hajj Poster Competition is organized annually to challenge our students and many other incentives are given to motivate them. Best poster wins the award.

Our Annual Day program is a huge success–a celebration with outstanding performances from all ages who are proud to show their parents what they have achieved during the year. We honor our proud graduates who look forward to this day to get their certificates and rewards. This is indeed an achievement for them and an emotional moment for their parents.

Our goal is to reach out to all families and encourage them to join hands with our Sunday School and give their children the gift of Islamic values and the teachings of Quran which is actually a very big responsibility of parents from Allah SWT. Learning our deen is our salvation and a gift for Akhirah.

Our Mission

The mission of ISEB Sunday School is to guarantee that each student achieves excellence in Islamic knowledge that will aid them in becoming a responsible citizen. By engaging our children in programs that meet the highest educational, ethical, and Islamic standards we can create a learning community that will benefit the future generations, Insha’Allah.

We believe in providing excellent Islamic values, strong Muslim characters, and law-abiding citizens of tomorrow through Quran, Hadith and Islamic teachings by our trained staff and their sincere efforts.

We will continue to grow with the help and support of parents in different school activities.

Our Vision

Our Children are the most important asset. Future of Islam in North America is directly dependent on how much time and effort we invest today on their Islamic and intellectual growth. Islamic Society of East Bay recognizes the importance of this crucial task and has made basic education available to them through Sunday School in the Lowry Masjid.

The school’s program reflects a commitment of teachers, staff, and administrators to address the needs of every student. We welcome parents’ ideas and support in our efforts to serve the young and growing Muslims of tomorrow. As parents bring their children to school, we want to work with them in the spirit of a true partnership in making this investment of time, effort, and resources fruitful for children, satisfying for parents, and rewarding for all those at the school.

Our mission and goals give a clear vision of what Sunday School strives for. That is excellence. Our school continues to be an excellent and successful Weekend School of the Bay Area since its inception in 1998.

We vision our students to be strong community leaders and contributing citizens of tomorrow.

Our Goals

To help students develop good, strong, and God-Fearing character through examples from the life of our Prophet Mohammad (S) and his teachings.

To teach the Quran through memorization and understanding through Tafseer about Allah’s commands and how to apply in our daily lives to give basic Islamic education.
